Obverse description Stylized facing or three-quarter bust in the 'bléso-chartaine' tradition, rendered in a schematic, angular manner characteristic of early feudal French coinage. A small crosslet appears at the center of the figure, with an annulet to the right side of the bust. Below the effigy, the letter S is visible accompanied by three short horizontal lines. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by the peripheral legend.
