| Obverse description | Bust of a bishop facing left, depicted in a stylized Romanesque manner with a mitre or episcopal headdress rendered in fine lines atop the head. The face is shown in profile with simplified but expressive features characteristic of 12th–13th century Alsatian coinage. The bust is set within a beaded inner border that follows the irregular flan edge. No legend is present, consistent with the anonymous series of Strasbourg episcopal deniers. |
