| Obverse description | Frontal bust of a bishop in high relief, depicted in a hieratic Romanesque style, wearing a mitre adorned with pellets and raising his right hand in benediction while holding a crosier to the right. The figure is rendered with stylized drapery decorated with pellet ornaments at the chest, characteristic of mid-12th-century episcopal coinage from the Upper Rhine region. Flanking the bishop's bust are two plant or scepter-like devices in the field. No legend is present, the coin being anonymous. |
