Obverse description Draped bust of Saint Stephen facing right, rendered in a schematic Romanesque style typical of late 11th-century episcopal coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the effigy, with the legend S STEPHANVS disposed around the periphery. The bust is stylized, with drapery indicated by incised lines and facial features rendered in a crude but characteristic manner of the period.
