| Obverse description | Central design features a rayed wheel or spoke motif set within a raised inner circle, with a central pellet or boss at the hub, surrounded by alternating spokes and pellets. The inner circle is enclosed within a plain border ring, beyond which the Latin circular legend +REX ANDREAS is distributed around the field. The outermost border consists of a beaded or cable ring enclosing the entire design. The lettering is rendered in a primitive Romanesque hammered style typical of early Hungarian royal coinage. |
