Obverse description A plain cross pattée centered in the field, with a fleur-de-lis ornament in the second quarter (upper right). The surrounding circular legend reads the count's name and title in abbreviated Latin. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hand-hammered medieval coinage. The overall style is typical of feudal French deniers of the mid-thirteenth century.

Reverse description A degenerate representation of the PAX type, derived from the earlier Toulouse coinage tradition, showing a highly stylized and degraded architectural or monogram motif that has progressively lost its original clarity through successive die copying. The design occupies the central field and is surrounded by a circular Latin legend naming the city of Toulouse. The irregular flan and variable strike are consistent with hammered feudal production of this period.
