| Obverse description | Central field features a bold cross pattée dividing the flan into four quadrants, with two pellets visible in the lower portion flanking the intersection. The quadrants contain fragmentary lettering arranged around the cross, with the whole design enclosed within a beaded inner border. The style is characteristic of Catalan medieval billon coinage, with irregular flan edges typical of hammered production. Legends reading BARCINO appear distributed across the quadrants in crude Roman capitals. |
