| Obverse description | Facing bust of Bishop Adalbéron II in high relief, rendered in the crude Ottonian hammered style characteristic of late 10th-century episcopal coinage. The bishop is depicted wearing a mitre or episcopal crown with visible decorative elements, his facial features boldly if roughly modelled with prominent eyes and stylised beard.
