Obverse description Facing bust of Bishop Adalbéron II in high relief, rendered in the crude Ottonian hammered style characteristic of late 10th-century episcopal coinage. The bishop is depicted wearing a mitre or episcopal crown with visible decorative elements, his facial features boldly if roughly modelled with prominent eyes and stylised beard. The bust is centrally positioned within the field, surrounded by a beaded inner border. The circular legend reads ADALBERO PRESVL, identifying the issuing prelate.
