| Obverse description | Full-face bust of Saint Gall rendered in crude but distinctive medieval style, centered within a raised inner ring. The saint's facial features are depicted frontally with stylized relief. A circular legend reading '+ MONETA · SANCTI · GALLI' runs between the inner ring and an outer beaded border of large pellets that frames the entire design. The overall composition is characteristic of late 12th-century Swiss ecclesiastical bracteate-influenced coinage. |
