Obverse description Central cross pattée enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a six-pointed star above and a crescent to the right, all set within a plain outer border. The design is executed in low relief typical of late Ottonian and early Salian hammered bracteate-style coinage. The field surrounding the central motif is plain, and the coin exhibits characteristic irregular flan shaping with four pinched edges. The inscription ZVRICH appears in the legend, referencing the Zurich Fraumünster Abbey as issuing authority.
