Reverse description The reverse features an ornamental design composed of interlaced longevity or endless knot motifs, a decorative device common on Muscovite dengas of the late 14th and early 15th centuries, likely derived from Tatar-influenced decorative traditions. The knotwork pattern fills the central field and is rendered in low relief on the irregular hammered flan. A fragmentary Cyrillic inscription is present along the margin, reading ...ВЕЛНКО... (Grand), forming part of the princely title legend. The overall execution is characteristic of the crude but expressive die-cutting of the Moscow Mint under Vasily I.
