Reverse description Mounted horseman galloping to the right, depicted in profile with a spear leveled forward in the attack position. Beneath the horse, a large serpent or snake head is shown with its mouth open and directed upward, the back of the head oriented to the right — a motif associated with the Muscovite iconographic tradition of the dragon-slaying rider. The design is executed in the bold, schematic style typical of early fifteenth-century Muscovite hammered silver coinage. The irregular flan and characteristic die-cutting of the period are evident.
