Reverse description The reverse bears an imitative Arabic legend filling the field, closely copying the epigraphic style of contemporary Golden Horde coinage without forming coherent Arabic text. The inscription is arranged in multiple lines across the flan and references the Tatar khan's titulature in form only. The die work is rough and the strike uneven, consistent with the hammered wire money technique employed at the Moscow mint during the reign of Vasily I. The overall design reflects the political and monetary dependence of the Moscow principality on the Golden Horde during this transitional period.
