| Obverse description | Cyrillic inscription distributed across four horizontal lines within the field, naming the issuing prince. The legend reads КНЯЗЬ ВЕЛИКИЙ ВАСИЛЕИ (Grand Prince Vasily), rendered in the semi-uncial Cyrillic script typical of early Muscovite coinage. The inscription occupies the majority of the flan, with a beaded border encircling the design. The lettering is characteristic of hammered wire money produced in the Moscow principality during the late 14th and early 15th centuries. |
