| Obverse description | Homage scene depicting two standing or seated figures facing one another, each extending the left arm upward toward the other in a gesture of submission or greeting. The figure on the right is interpreted as a duke or prince seated upon a chair or throne. The composition is rendered in a crude but expressive medieval Russian hammered style typical of Novgorodian coinage. The field is uneven due to the hand-struck flan, and a Cyrillic legend incorporating the symbols ᛭ C ⚘ Д ⚹ appears in the surrounding area. |
