Obverse description Central device features the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle displayed within a beaded inner circle, each head surmounted by a crown, with wings spread and talons visible. The eagle is rendered in an archaic Muscovite style characteristic of early Petrine coinage. A Cyrillic legend encircles the central device reading the titles of Tsar Peter Alexeyevich, separated from the beaded inner circle by a smooth annular band. The entire design is contained within a rope or beaded outer border running along the coin's rim.
