| Obverse description | Crowned double-headed eagle displayed at center, with wings spread and two heads facing outward in opposite directions, rendered in a bold archaic style characteristic of early Petrine coinage. The eagle occupies the full field of the coin. A circular Cyrillic legend surrounds the device, reading the name and title of Tsar Peter Alexeyevich.
