Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription occupying the full field of the irregular oval flan, struck in bold raised letters characteristic of Russian wire-money coinage of the early 17th century. The legend, reading in abbreviated form across three or four lines, proclaims the royal titulature of Tsar and Grand Prince Mikhail. The lettering is angular and somewhat compressed due to the constraints of the small planchet, with individual characters occasionally truncated at the flan edges. The inscription is the sole decorative element, with no border or ornamental device present. This epigraphic type is consistent with denga coinage issued under Mikhail Fyodorovich Romanov at the Moscow Mint.
