Obverse description Armed equestrian figure depicted in right profile, seated upon a galloping horse, raising a sabre aloft in the right hand in a striking pose. The composition is rendered in the characteristic flat, schematic style of early Muscovite wire money, with the horse shown in full stride. To the right of the horseman, a second standing figure appears to face the rider. The entire design occupies the irregular, lenticular flan typical of wire-cut hammered coinage of the period.

Reverse description The reverse bears a three-line Cyrillic inscription in archaic Muscovite lettering, filling the field across the full width of the irregular flan. The bold, deeply struck characters are rendered in the distinctive early Russian script of the sixteenth century. The legend reads КНSЬ ВЕЛIKI IBAN, proclaiming the title and name of the issuing ruler, Grand Prince Ivan. The letters are well-formed and clearly legible, occupying virtually the entire reverse field without a border.
