Reverse description Three-line Cyrillic inscription arranged within the field beneath a tilde-like decorative element, reading the title and name of the Grand Duke. The legend КНSЬ ВЕЛIКI IВАН (Grand Duke Ivan) is rendered in archaic Muscovite Cyrillic characters typical of mid-16th century Russian coinage. The lettering is crudely but purposefully struck, consistent with the hand-cut dies of the period, and occupies the full available field of the small, irregular flan.
