| Obverse description | Crude effigy of a human head occupying the central field, rendered in a highly stylized and degenerate manner typical of mid-15th-century Muscovite hammered coinage. A peripheral legend encircles the central device, though the inscription is entirely barbarous and illegible, consisting of pseudo-letters that have lost all coherent meaning through successive die-copying. The irregular flan and variable strike result in portions of the design and legend being weak or absent at the margins. The overall execution reflects the primitive minting techniques of the period. |
