| Reverse description | Central field displays a facing bust, identified as Azzo Visconti, rendered in a schematic medieval style with curling hair and draped shoulders, set within a beaded inner border. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin reads A VICECOMES, introduced by a cross pommée, identifying the lord as a member of the Visconti family. The striking is somewhat flat and off-center in places, consistent with hand-hammered production. The overall style reflects the transitional signorial coinage of Lombardy under Visconti dominance in the mid-14th century. |
