| Obverse description | Facing bust of a bishop in episcopal vestments, rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner. A crozier is depicted to the left of the bust, with a star to the right. A quatrefoil or cross ornament appears above the figure. The design is struck in low relief with the broad, flat characteristics typical of 12th-century northern Italian hammered coinage. |
