Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Vitellius facing left, rendered with characteristic fleshy features and detailed wavy hair secured by a laurel wreath. A small globe appears at the base of the neck truncation, symbolising imperial dominion over the world. The portrait is executed in the bold, realistic style typical of Julio-Claudian and Flavian-era imperial coinage. The encircling legend runs clockwise in incuse Latin capitals along the coin's border.
