Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, with characteristic fleshy features and short-cropped hair rendered in the Flavian portrait style. The bust is draped, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES VESP AVG P M COS IIII in Latin capitals, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is executed in confident relief typical of early Flavian imperial coinage struck at Rome.
