Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in a realistic, somewhat stocky portrait style characteristic of Flavian coinage. The emperor's features are boldly modelled, with a broad brow and prominent jaw. The circular legend runs from lower left to upper right around the portrait, filling the field to the coin's irregular edge. No drapery is visible at the truncation.
