Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in a robust, realistic portrait style characteristic of early Flavian coinage. The emperor's features are boldly modelled, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated around the head. The legend encircles the portrait along the periphery of the flan, partially visible on the irregular hammered planchet. The overall style reflects the somewhat provincial engraving associated with the eastern mint output of AD 69–70.
