Reverse description A mourning female figure personifying Judaea seated right in an attitude of dejection, her hands bound behind her back, positioned at the base of a tall palm tree to the left — a symbol of the conquered province. The composition commemorates the Roman victory in the Jewish War of AD 66–70 and belongs to the celebrated Judaea Capta series. The exergual legend IVDAEA appears in the lower field beneath the central device.
