Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristic realistic portraiture typical of Flavian coinage. The emperor's mature, fleshy features — including a broad brow and firm jaw — are rendered with expressive naturalism. A laurel wreath crowns the head, its leaves clearly articulated. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially visible on the irregular hammered planchet. The portrait exemplifies the unidealized, veristic approach favored by Flavian imperial imagery.
