Obverse description Bare-necked, laureate head of Divus Vespasianus facing right, rendered in the naturalistic portrait style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. The wreath of laurel leaves is boldly rendered, resting prominently on the brow. The surrounding legend runs clockwise along the periphery of the flan, bordered by a dotted inner circle. The portrait displays the strong, aged features associated with Vespasian's official posthumous iconography, issued under Titus as part of the consecratio coinage.
