| Obverse description | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in bold high relief with characteristic portraiture of the Flavian dynasty. The emperor's mature features — including a broad brow, strong jaw, and close-cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath — are depicted with naturalistic realism typical of early imperial coinage. The circumferential legend reads IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, distributed around the portrait in evenly spaced Roman capitals. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with hand-struck Roman silver of this period. |
