| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Titus facing right, rendered in the naturalistic Roman Imperial portrait style with short hair beneath the wreath and a draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation. The obverse legend encircles the portrait, beginning at the lower left and reading clockwise around the field. The portrait exhibits the characteristic Flavian physiognomy, with strong facial features typical of dynastic coinage struck under Vespasian. This obverse type served to associate Titus, as heir apparent, with the authority and legitimacy of the reigning emperor. |
