Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, depicted with naturalistic portraiture characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's features are rendered in high relief with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The encircling legend reads IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, distributed around the obverse field. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered Roman silver coinage of this period.
