Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the high-relief style characteristic of the mature Trajanic workshop. The emperor's portrait displays finely engraved facial features and layered hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling legend reads IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI P P, distributed around the bust from lower left to lower right. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the period, with the legend partially visible at the edges.
