Reverse description Radiate and draped bust of Sol, the sun god, facing right, with two distinctive locks of hair falling down the neck, a hallmark of this type within the Trajanic series. The deity's shoulders are draped, and the radiate crown projects from the head in fine relief. The reverse legend, distributed around the periphery, acclaims Trajan's Parthian victory and lists his principal titles and honours. The field is plain, focusing attention on the divine bust. The overall style reflects the accomplished die-cutting of the Rome mint workshops under Trajan.
