Obverse description Laureate head of Titus facing right, portrayed with short curly hair and the characteristic Flavian physiognomy. The effigy is rendered in high relief typical of early Flavian portraiture, with fine engraving detail visible in the laurel wreath. The encircling legend runs clockwise from lower left, filling the entire periphery of the flan. The portrait is undrapped, showing the bare neck and shoulders, consistent with standard imperial denarius portraiture of the period.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering IMP TITVS CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M
(Translation: Imperator Titus Caesar Vespasianus Augustus, Pontifex Maximus. Supereme commander (Imperator) Titus Caesar Vespasian, emperor (Augustus), high priest.)
