Reverse description The goddess Ceres depicted standing to the left in full figure, draped in long robes, extending her right hand to hold ears of grain and a poppy head, while her left hand grasps a long vertical sceptre. The deity is rendered in the classical Roman style, her drapery falling in naturalistic folds. The reverse legend is divided across the field to either side of the figure, reading CERES to the left and AVGVST to the right, identifying this personification as the imperial Ceres Augusta, associating the goddess of agriculture and abundance with the Flavian dynasty.
