Reverse description The abbreviated legend AVG is displayed in large letters at the centre of the reverse field, enclosed within a prominent oak wreath (corona civica) tied at the base, its branches sweeping symmetrically to either side. The oak wreath, a distinguished Roman civic honour awarded for saving the lives of fellow citizens, held particular ideological significance for the Flavian dynasty. The composition is bold and centralised, with no additional devices or exergual markings visible. The plain field within the wreath concentrates attention on the dynastic abbreviation, a reverse type associated with coinage struck in the names of Vespasian's sons during AD 69–71.
