Reverse description The goddess Annona, personification of the imperial grain supply, is depicted seated to the left on a throne or chair, her robes rendered in flowing drapery. She holds a sack or bundle of corn-ears in her extended hand, emblematic of her role as guardian of Rome's food provisions. An altar or modius may be discernible at her feet, further reinforcing the grain-supply iconography. The reverse legend arcs around the field, identifying the divine personification in association with the reigning emperor.
