Reverse description Vesta, the goddess of the hearth and sacred flame, seated left upon a curule chair, her figure fully draped in long flowing robes. In her extended right hand she holds the Palladium, the ancient protective cult image of Pallas Athena, and in her left hand a long vertical sceptre. The composition is executed in a classical Roman style, with the figure occupying a commanding central position within the field. The surrounding legend encircles the type and references the imperial titulature of Trajan.
