Obverse description Plain, uninscribed field at center, entirely encircled by the legend IMP•CAESAR•DIVI•F•III•VIR•R•P•C rendered in bold, well-spaced Latin capitals reading clockwise around the coin. The absence of any portrait or device on the obverse is a distinctive and deliberate typological choice, emphasizing Octavian's titulature — Imperator, Caesar, son of the Deified (Julius Caesar), and member of the Second Triumvirate — as the sole design statement. A beaded border runs along the inner rim. The deeply incuse lettering is characteristic of the mobile military mint coinage struck in central or southern Italy circa 37 BC.
