Obverse description Laureate bust of Nero facing right, with finely rendered curly hair and short beard, the laurel wreath tied at the back of the head. The portrait displays the characteristic full-faced, fleshy features associated with Nero's later coinage. The circumferential legend reads NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS, distributed around the bust in well-spaced Latin capitals. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered silver coinage of the Neronian period.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS
(Translation: Nero, Caesar and emperor.)
