| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, depicted with his characteristic layered and elaborately curled hair arranged in tiers across the forehead and falling in ringlets at the nape of the neck, with a short beard visible on the chin. The truncation of the bust is plain. The portrait is rendered in a naturalistic Julio-Claudian style, conveying imperial authority. The encircling legend runs along the outer border of the coin field. |
