| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, rendered in fine high relief with naturalistic portrait style typical of early Neronian coinage. The emperor's youthful features are depicted with characteristic wavy hair combed forward over the brow and temples. The neck is cleanly truncated at the base. The encircling legend NERO CAESAR AVG IMP runs clockwise in well-spaced Latin capitals around the periphery of the flan. |
