Obverse description Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Nero facing right, rendered with a short beard characteristic of his mature portraiture. The emperor's curly hair is depicted in layered locks beneath a laurel wreath, with ribbon ties visible behind the neck. The portrait is bold and high-relief, displaying the fleshy facial features associated with Nero's later numismatic likeness. The encircling legend reads NERO CAESAR, divided on either side of the bust. A beaded border frames the entire obverse field.
