Obverse description A Roman war galley (praetorian trireme) depicted in profile, sailing to the right, with oars extended below the hull and a scepter or officer figure visible at the stern. A decorated prow ornament (aplustre) is rendered at the bow. The legend ANT·AVG arcs across the upper field and III·VIR·R·P·C appears along the lower periphery, all within a dotted border. The engraving is characteristic of the hasty, functional style of a moving military mint.
