| Reverse description | A legionary aquila (eagle standard) displayed facing, with wings spread, flanked on either side by a military signum (infantry standard), all three standards rendered in careful relief. The two lateral standards each bear a series of circular medallions stacked vertically on a staff, typical of Roman legionary iconography. The legion number LEG·X is inscribed in the lower field in bold Latin capitals, identifying the Legio X Equestris, one of Caesar's and later Antony's most distinguished legions. The whole composition is enclosed within a crisp beaded border. |
