| Obverse description | Bare head of Lucius Aelius Caesar facing right, with curly hair rendered in fine relief, the portrait displaying the characteristic dynastic style of the Hadrianic period. The circumferential legend reads L AELIVS CAESAR in Latin capitals, distributed around the bust. The flan is irregular in shape, as typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the second century AD.
