| Obverse description | Bare head of Lucius Aelius Caesar facing right, rendered in the classical Roman portrait style typical of the Hadrianic period. The effigy displays close-cropped hair with fine engraved locks across the crown and temples, consistent with the iconography of Aelius as Caesar and designated heir. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the outer field encircling the portrait. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hand-struck Roman imperial silver coinage of this era. |
