| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Lucius Livineius Regulus facing right, depicted with short cropped hair in a naturalistic Republican portrait style. The bust is truncated at the shoulder and rendered with fine modelling of the facial features, including a prominent nose and strong jawline. No legend appears on the obverse, the design being entirely devoted to the portrait within a beaded border. This restitutor issue, struck under Trajan, reproduces an earlier Republican type associated with the moneyer Livineius Regulus. The field is plain, with no exergual line or additional decorative elements. |
